Everton v Manchester City – 31.03.2017 – Betting Tip

We are entering the final part of the season in the Premiership and Manchester City have all but won the title with a 16 points advantage only 8 games before the end. In fact, if they keep it up, they may very well win the title just a few weeks from now, but the next obstacle to this goal will be Everton, one of the few teams that have Citizens serious trouble this season. Have a look at our betting tips and make your bets on this interesting match that is bound to give us a true footballing spectacle.

Everton

In their recognizable fashion, Everton have managed to stay quite far from both the top and the bottom of the table this season. After 31 games played, Everton have won 40 points, for a respectable 9th place but well behind the teams battling it out for the European spots next season. As hosts, Everton have done a bit better, sitting in 7th place by home points with 29 won in 15 games. The team’s top goal scorer is veteran Wayne Rooney, who has managed to score ten on the season but has been far from consistent.

Everton have won their last two and three of their last five games and one stat going their way is the fact that Manchester City have not defeated them in their last three matches, with The Toffees even giving them a major sweat earlier this season when City were forced to score their equalizing goal on 82 minutes into the match, following an early opener from Rooney.

Everton don’t have much to fight for as they are likely to stay in the middle of the pack until the end, but every point in EPL is valuable and we will surely not see The Toffees waving the white flag at the Goodison Park.

Manchester City

There is not much use in wasting too many words on Manchester City this season, as their brilliant Premiership performances have all but secured them the title with 8 games still left to play. Guardiola’s men have been absolutely on fire throughout the campaign with the entire forward pack showing brilliant performances and the most solid defense of the league.

Manchester City have not conceded a single goal in their last three EPL matches and have scored 85 in total this season, so we can expect them to keep scoring this time around too but given how Goodison Park crowd will give their boys plenty of motivation, it would not be too strange to see them concede this time either.

City have performed at top level as guests as well as hosts this campaign, sitting at the top of the away points list as well. The only real reason for Man City not to perform at the top level may be Pep Guardiola deciding to rest some of his top players ahead of the upcoming Champions League matchup with Liverpool on the 4th, which is certainly a game with much more at stake.

Head to Head and Stats

Historically speaking, Everton have managed to defend the Goodison against Manchester City quite well, with plenty of home wins and draws even in The Citizens’ modern era. Manchester City do have a statistical advantage in terms of points won against The Toffees but considering Everton were one of the few teams to snatch a point against the likely champions this season, it would be silly to dismiss them in terms of getting a favorable result on home turf this time around as well.

Our Tips and Predictions

Predicting the outcome of this match is quite delicate as the visitors have certainly shown potential to wreak havoc over their opponents this year but Everton were definitely not one of the teams they managed to do it against. Still, given the odds offered by the bookies, we believe that both teams to score at even money is a fairly decent value bet with lots of potential. Additionally, a correct score of 1:1 offered at 12.00 at some of the best betting sites in Nigeria is a fantastic value bet in our opinion, given recent results of the two teams and the possibility of the visitors coming at Everton with less than their full attacking force, which means that chasing a good result for Everton is one of the best sports betting strategies we could opt for.
